Nurse practitioners (NPs) are advanced pe registered nurses who have advanced clinical training. They diagnose and treat medical problems, perform advanced procedures and prescribe medications.

Primary care helps direct and coordinate certain aspects of your health care – physical, emotional, and mental. Primary care providers listen to your questions, assess symptoms, recommend treatment approaches, prescribe medication and refer you to the proper specialist when needed.

You should bring copies of all pertinent medical records such as doctor's notes and laboratory and imaging results, including actual films.

A list of current medications and any questions you may have for the doctor is also helpful.
